Southern Oxfordshire Food Festivals
Food festivals are fun. A combination of expert demonstrations, competitions, top tips and stall-holders selling and sampling their wares is foodie heaven. And if past experience of Southern Oxfordshire's food festivals is anything to go by, a chance for some celebrity spotting as well. Don't miss this year's celebrations involving artisan food and drink produce, local food producers and food retailers.
Dorchester-on-Thames - Saturday 11 - Sunday 12 May 2013
Held in the grounds of Dorchester Abbey expect cookery demonstrations from chefs such as Nick Galer (Heston’s head chef) and Annie Assheton (Masterchef finalist) and a tent bursting with foods from small independent suppliers. Taste your way through everything from teas to oils and Asian foods to cake.
Wallingford - Saturday 18 - Sunday 19 May 2013
A packed live theatre programme, exhibits and stalls from local producers and Gary Jones, Executive Head Chef at Le Manior aux Quat'Saisons is headlining in the cookery demonstration tent.
Thame - Saturday 28 September 2013
Thame Food Festival includes food based treasure hunts, hands-on food making stalls and exhibitor food stalls to sample and buy from. Last year over 15,000 people enjoyed children’s workshops and competitions, street music and entertainment and demonstrations from top TV chef Raymond Blanc and his team from nearby Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons
